Railway Safety

The department are responsible for:

• Regulatory, approval and supervision tasks in the rail sector in relation to the safety of urban railways (infrastructure managers, operators, railway companies, operating and traffic regulations, rolling stock and infrastructure).
• Regulatory, approval and supervision tasks in the rail sector in relation to conventional railways (infrastructure managers, operators, railway undertakings, operating and traffic regulations, rollingstock and infrastructure).
• Traffic agreements, tariffs and fair competition, and passenger rights in the aviation sector.
• Regulation and supervision of the postal sector.
